Ikorodu LG Chair, Prince Ladega Attracts Two FG Projects Within A Week Of Resumption

-As Hon. Shotomiwa Leads 7th Ikorodu LG Legislative Council

Prince Adedayo Ladega, Chairman, Ikorodu LG (2nd left), his Vice, Hon. Babawale Alogba, (2nd right), Hon. Wasiu Babatunde Shotomiwa, 7th Legislative Session, Ikorodu LG (middle) and other officials at the proclamation/inauguration of the 7th Legislative Council.

The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Prince Adedayo Ladega has stated that his new administration has attracted projects from two federal agencies within a week of resumption into the office.

Prince Ladega made the revelation at the proclamation/inauguration of the 7th Ikorodu LG Legislative Council, when the former Majority Leader of the 6th Council, Hon. Wasiu Babatunde Shotomiwa (Papy), Councillor representing Ward D, emerged the Council Leader.

Other Principal Officers that emerged were Hon. Mutiat Fatuga, Deputy Leader, Hon. Idris Olaniyi Shokunbi, Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwakemi Buraimoh, Chief Whip, while Hon. Oladimeji Oshikoya, Hon. Safari Murisiku, and Hon. Lateefat Egbetokun are members.

The new Chairman proclaiming the 7th session into existence assured the representatives of the grassroots people of his administration working with them while also acknowledging efforts of party members in the emergence of elected officials.

Prince Ladega noted, “As we inaugurate this new chapter in our local government, I am glad to acknowledge the legislative arm of our government, and I look forward to working with our councillors to bring about a government that truly captures prosperity for all.

Also, I want acknowledge the effort of all Ward party members for voting all our prosperity councillors from Ward A to Ward G. God bless you all.”

“Within our first week in office, we have achieved some notable milestones. We have successfully attracted two Federal Government Agencies to lkorodu, which will: Construct a standard primary healthcare center at Mowonla, to enhance healthcare delivery in the community; Provide equipment and training through the Industrial Training Fund, empowering our youth and women with vocational skills.”

The council boss also said that he has also convened a peace and security meeting and added that his administration is committed to delivering on his promise.

“Additionally, I have convened the Peace and Security Meeting with all security agencies to receive briefings for enhanced security measures. We are committed to protecting lives and properties, in line with our “SEED Agenda.”

“l extend my gratitude to our party members, community leaders, and the people of lkorodu for their overwhelming support and massive votes. We promise to treasure your trust by delivering excellent services. Your prayers and continued support are invaluable to this administration. Thank you, and GOD bless you all.”

The new Council Leader, Hon. Shotonwa, in a statement after his emergence said that his experience in the 6th Legislative Session where he served as the Majority Leader and contributed to improvement of quality of lives in the council through bye – laws will guide in his new position.

“Having served as the Majority Leader for the 6th Legislative Arm Ikorodu LGA and the Head of House Committee on Health, I have been able to raise bills to ensure improved quality of lives and overall well-being of youths, made quality contributions on health, security, good governance and the overall development of Ikorodu LGA.

“My Leadership of the 7th Legislative Arm Ikorodu LGA heralds an era of a youthful Legislative leadership with an assurance of a bold, inclusive, and community-focused decision-making process.

“I am seizing this opportunity to appreciate everyone who lent a hand of support, acknowledgement and cheer for me to emerge as the Leader of the house today, thank you so much GOD bless you,” he said.

While appreciating the Council Chairman, other officials and councillors, he assured that the House would be committed to transparency and cooperate with the executives and the judicial arms in achieving the objectives of government.

“From the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, to the Vice Chairman, Hon. Babawale Alogba, to my fellows in Council (the Councillors representing the six other wards in Ikorodu LGA), the party Leaders and stalwarts, the other members of the Chamber, party faithful, my family and well -wishers, I thank you all so much, God bless you.

While the Legislative Council plays a key role in oversight and lawmaking, the Council will remain committed to transparency, and partnership with the Executive and Judicial arms towards achieving the shared vision of a prosperous Ikorodu Local Government.
